Let’s get right into it – this is about fictional marketers. These are characters on TV and movies that are in a marketing profession.
- Don Draper on Mad Men played by Jon Hamm (am I right, ladies?). This character was the man at the company and even in parts of the industry. Creative, authoritative, and a thought leader. Good stuff and good show.
- Simon Roberts on The Crazy Ones played by Robin Williams. I’ve never seen the show except the commercials for it but it seemed comical. Williams’ character was the big wig at an advertising agency. R.I.P. Robin Williams.
- The movie The Joneses starring David Duchovney and Demi Moore. Movie is about two marketers making their neighbors spend more money….hence keeping up with the Joneses.
- Debra Barrone in Everybody Loves Raymond. Does anybody remember when she had a job for a little bit? She was a graphic designer…
- The show, House of Lies, deals with business overall and there’s some marketing involved (so I am told). I haven’t seen this but have read and heard about it so I think it fits in here regarding marketing
